Description:
The Madrid Language and Liberal Arts Program offers a semester or academic year of study and cultural immersion in the lively and cosmopolitan city of Madrid, Spain. In addition to courses, students participate in day and weekend excursions to locations such as Granada, Cordoba, Toledo, Sevilla, and Segovia. All courses are taught by Spanish faculty or the resident director. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 16 Boston University credits. Students enroll in one of the following: * Level I: Intensive Spanish Language, for students at the intermediate level * Level II: Advanced Studies, for students with proficiency in the language * Level III: (Spring only) Honors, a direct university enrollment program for exceptional students with strong Spanish-language skills

* Level I: Intensive Spanish Language Studies
o Minimum GPA: 3.0 (in major and overall)
o Minimum of second-semester college-level Spanish language, or the equivalent, with grades of B or better
* Level II: Advanced Language and University Studies
o Minimum GPA: 3.0 (in major and overall)
o Minimum of fifth-semester college-level Spanish language, or the equivalent, with grades of B or better
* Level III: Honors (Spring semester only)
o Minimum GPA: 3.3 (cumulative)
o Minimum of sixth-semester college-level Spanish language, or the equivalent, with grades of B or better
o Language screening interviews may be required
