Description: Interns in NISGUA's Oakland office assist first-hand in research, administration, writing, and grassroots organizing on the following projects: Speaking Tours, Congressional Work, NISGUA Publications. Interns are given substantive projects of which to take ownership.

Highlights: "My internship at NISGUA provided me with many unique experiences. I wasn't just stuck in the corner stuffing envelopes. Since the organization is so small, I had real responsibilities and my efforts were always appreciated.'

Qualifications: Ability to work independently and with others; Strong writing and oral communications skills; Strong research skills; Ability to read and understand Spanish, and translate into English.

    Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala's Mission Statement: NISGUA works for real democracy in Guatemala and the U.S. and strengthens the global movement for justice. NISGUA builds mutually beneficial grassroots ties between the people of the U.S. and Guatemala. NISGUA advocates for accountability for crimes of the past and for grassroots alternatives to destructive mega-development projects in Guatemala.
