Typical Duration of Program: 1-2 years
Dates: from Jan to December
Description:
As one of the most leading volunteer associations in Cameroon, Nest of Hope, the volunteer will participate in the activities of Nido di Speranza by providing time and skills to suit his availability. You may have skills and expertise that we need; you may have hardware and software that we lack and can very probably help stretch our resources on & offline. Volunteers are effectively placed in rural and urban communities where they will teach solo and assist the few teachers available. This job is based on the syllabus of the Cameroon Education Service and this will be made available to all volunteers after their orientation (you will be teaching English, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, sports activities, computer skills among other subjects in a school). Therefore good French and English skills are necessary. If you like you may also work in a preschool. Some children need special education just to be able to communicate. Special education is not so common in our country Cameroon. Thus, we will also help our society to shed some of its prejudices towards the disabled.
Highlights:
We would love to bring you closer to a different country and its people. Our service provides you with the opportunity to experience a different lifestyle, to work and party with people of other cultures and to learn about another culture and language. An internship in Cameroon is a great way to combine work and fun and to expand ones horizon. Travel to Cameroon and enjoy the beautiful environment, wildlife and the bustling cities.
Qualifications:
The best time to seek work in an internship abroad and to prepare for an international career is while you are a student or soon after graduation. You may be considering an overseas work experience for many reasons: an adventure, a chance to gain in-depth knowledge of another culture and of yourself, an inexpensive way to improve foreign language proficiency, or as preparation for an international career. There are no special qualifications but uyou can intern or volunteer according to your qualifications, interests and university requirements, Nido di Speranza will ensure that we find a unique internship or volunteer experience that best fits your needs.

We are a registered non profit organization (NPO) and Voluntary Organization (VO) committed to change, grow, love and aspire for the poor and marginalized communities and especially hope of our children. Our vision is to impact the lives of a poor and marginalized community whose future is being threatened by HIV/AIDS, abandonment and poverty. Our desire is to see the poor and underprivileged find a home where they can experience loving relationships and be part of a secure family environment. Nido di Speranza is working to create a more just and equitable global society in which all individuals, families and communities have a meaningful opportunity to improve the quality of their lives for themselves and future generations.
