This is a great internship at a multi-national school with 3 campuses a daycare and a primary school in Sakina as well as a secondary school in Kisongo. They use both a Tanzanian curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum from the UK. The school's philosophy is "Education with Competence" with the goal of nurturing well rounded citizens.

Preference will be given to those applicants with teaching skills and experience teaching children between the ages of 3-14 years old.

All classes are taught in English.

Tanzania has unparalleled wildlife, abundant natural resources, and has one of the highest levels of biodiversity on mainland Africa. With spectacular landscapes, Tanzania encompasses the continent's highest point--Mt. Kilimanjaro--and its deepest lake, Lake Tanganyika. Scientists and travelers from around the world come to Tanzania to study and marvel at the teeming wildlife.

Tanzanian people have immense pride in their country's history and harmony between its different ethnic groups. Deep respect for elders, compassion for the ill and prolonged greetings are only a few characteristics of the culture of Tanzania. These characteristics -- along with a strong work ethic, peace-keeping attitude, a genuine joy of life, and a desire to learn are part of what one experiences when working with people in Tanzania.

Tanzania: Primary, Nursery & Secondary Education

Highlights: You'll be based just outside the beautiful city of Arusha, in northern Tanzania. Arusha is on the southern slopes of towering Mount Meru, its elevation of 4,500 feet keeps temperatures cool and humidity low.

Our staff will pick you up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to our home-base. The first week will include an in-depth orientation covering local business etiquette, health and safety, cultural norms, and even a crash course in Swahili to make you proficient in the basic greetings. After a week of intensive orientation, you will work full-time at your internship for the next six weeks.

Arusha is also the jumping off point for most wildlife safaris and is only a couple of hours away from Mount Kilimanjaro. There's no shortage of amazing places to visit on the weekends.
