Description: Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.

The Politics Department of the University of Adelaide is home to the South Australian Internship Program. This program was established to give students first-hand experience in the workings of diverse public service organizations. Students selected for public sector internships will be expected to produce research that is of use to the host organization. The internship is accompanied by a required seminar where students produce a research paper. The combined practicum, seminar and paper carry six University of Adelaide points (8 IES credits). The South Australian Internship Program is only offered in the University of Adelaide Semester II from July to November.
