Highlights:
Research shows there are currently 20 million left-behind children and 58 million migrant children in China. Migrant children are those who move with their parents to seek a better life in urban areas. Left-behind children are those who are left in the rural countryside by their migrating parents. Migrant children are marginalized, discriminated against and are subject to unequal treatment while left-behind children are separated from their parents and lack parental love and affection. Both groups are vulnerable to low self-esteem, lack of focus and purpose, and demonstrate lower scholastic achievement and increased delinquency. Our mission is to empower these children by instilling in them four key values - Confidence, Care, Commitment, and Courage. Why join CAI? 1. You can help these migrant children to gain knowledge of the arts and to better contribute to their society. 2. As CAI is an international organization, you will have opportunities to work with experts from all over the world who share the same goals and ideals. 3. You can obtain experience in management and leadership through volunteering with CAI projects.
