Description: Community service volunteer opportunities range from teaching and mentoring students from disadvantaged communities to caring for infants and toddlers at orphanages to assisting with the overall operations of education, social work and youth development programs.

Human Rights volunteer positions range from working with gender and refugee rights legislation to HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns to helping hands-on at local refugee camps. Projects range from research to on-the-ground training and support.

Medical and Public Health volunteer opportunities range from conducting medical research to assisting with health care-related workshops in the communities. They also include non-medical care to patients, attending ward rounds and helping the nursing staff. We've partnered with several hospitals, research institutes, and hospices in Buenos Aires and coordinate both research-based and clinical health care programs.

Community Service, Human Rights and Medical Programs in Argentina

Highlights: The birthplace of tango, the Paris of the South America, and home to two of the most passionately supported football clubs in the world, Buenos Aires is a city rich with culture, excitement, and adventure.

Program participants are overwhelmed with a choice of museums, street theater, live jazz and cafe orchestras, and will love the theaters and bookshops of the Avenida Corrientes. The city is also home to the 19th century Teatro Colon, as well known for its stunning architecture as for the renowned opera and ballet performances it has hosted. By contrast, small folk clubs called penas give visitors an insight into the music and dance of gaucho culture.

Further afield there are opportunities for whale watching, tours of the wine region, hiking in the Andes, and skiing in Bariloche. Make time for a trip to the dramatic landscape of Patagonia at the end of the world, or to experience the spectacular sight of the Iguazu Falls.

Connect-123 has a wealth of Buenos Aires information and offers a wide range of things to do to help students get the most of their time in Argentina. Were firm believers in the motto work hard and play even harder and we organize numerous social and cultural events for Connect-123 program participants throughout the year.
