Description:
You will work in a public school and support a Chilean teacher to prepare and realize the English classes. Above all you need to help to improve listening and speaking skills among students. One class consists of about 35 children. You are very welcome to develop special activities, depending on your skills. Among others, it could be theater projects, games, singing, dancing. You may also design materials for use in English classrooms. You can choose how much time you would like to take part. The minimum working hours are 10 hours per week, the maximum 30 hours.

The Teaching English in Chile Program was created to support Chilean teachers of public schools in the Region Bio-Bio. We would like to provide children of low income families perhaps the unique possibility to get in contact with a native speaker, to exchange intercultural experiences and be motivated to improve their English knowledge. You will teach English and at the same time get the possibility to live like a true member of the community and to fully integrate into the Chilean culture.
Qualifications:
* You need to be a native English speaker. * At least 20 years old and have basic knowledge of Spanish. * You do not require any formal teaching qualifications. Important is that you enjoy working with children and are motivated. * Students of the following areas are preferred: education, psychology, art or dance.
