Description: The Daily Guide, Ghana's second largest newspaper, is published by Western Publications Ghana Limited, the biggest independent press house in Ghana. Launched in 1999, The Daily Guide newspaper ensures a nationwide circulation by airlifting newspapers to all corners of Ghana. Their mission is to promote democracy in Ghana through objective and creative journalism which will inform, entertain and educate their readers. This press house also publishes 4 additional newspapers which focus on business, the youth, entertainment and current affairs news items.

Ghana's media industry is making rapid economic and professional advancement, according to the African Media Barometer-Ghana Report 2008 the Daily Guide newspaper is a pioneer in this area. The report revealed substantial development in media freedom and independence and showed the Ghanaian media to be one of the most successful on the continent. The print media in Ghana has been dominated for many years by two state-owned newspapers, but the landscape has changed with innovative, privately-owned publications such as the Daily Guide.

The organization is chaired by Mr. Freddie Blay, a lawyer and former politician who played a key role in solidifying Ghana's democracy by serving in Parliament for a total of 16 years, including time as Deputy Speaker of Ghana's Parliament. He continues to work as a lawyer and active politician in Ghana, whose voice remains a highly esteemed one in African politics. Ms. Gina Blay, a world-class journalist whose work has taken her to various parts of the globe, serves as managing editor.

The Daily Guide is a rapidly growing newspaper with each month seeing increased circulation and improved content. It currently employs over 100 staff, and its journalists are recognized as some of the most innovative and driven.

Highlights: This organization requires the services of a journalist to source, research and write stories for publication in national newspapers.
