Our Canadian Internship Programme offers a unique way in which to develop personal and career goals through work experience in many different areas of vocational study. The programme aims to provide a means of improving practical skills in a professional environment, enhance employment opportunities within an increasingly competitive job market and increase awareness of international business and practical work experience. We organize placements which match the career and professional objectives of all our trainees. Placements range from 1 month to 12 months, the longer the placement the more beneficial the work experience and knowledge gained. Companies vary from small family run firms which provide an all round practical experience, to large multinationals.

Programme Includes * Internship Placement before arrival in Canada with an internship offer for a minimum of 3 months. * Orientation meeting covering everything you need to know about working in Canada. * Assistance opening a bank account * The Essential Guide to Canada - the complete information pack on every aspect of living and working in Canada. * Advice and ongoing assistance to support your placement and any issues you have * Mail holding service, so you instantly have a permanent address in Vancouver or Whistler * Free call number for general questions or emergencies during office hours * One year's membership in the International Club, which gives members access to discounts on services, tours and attractions in Vancouver and provides access to assistance from the Programme coordinator anytime of year, during normal business hours. * Social activities in Vancouver and Whistler ranging from pub nights to ski trips. * Brochures and maps to familiarize yourself with Canada and the local area. Optional Add-ons * University of Cambridge International Examinations Advanced Work Experience Certificate. * First two nights accommodation in dorm room at a central hostel in Vancouver (includes breakfast, linen, a towel, and a welcome drink). * Accommodation in host family (Vancouver, Whistler only). * Airport Pick up services The hours of work will vary, depending on the placement, and can be between 20 - 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Applicants must: * Be aged between 20 and 35 * Have sufficient funds for their maintenance during their initial period of stay in Canada * Have a good command of the English language, a sense of commitment and keen to gain practical work experience. * Be flexible and adhere to equal opportunities and health and safety policies. Participants must apply for a Young Workers Exchange programme visa and indicate their intended length of stay at the time of application for the programme. There is no charge for this Visa. Participant Eligibility: This programme is open to participants from the United Kingdom, Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland. Additional information on visa processing centres is available at the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. If applying for the YWEP work permit, the applicant is required to attach the job offer from Canada (signed job offer on company letterhead). Please note the participant should stay in Canada according to the dates on his/her visa.
