Description: Work alongside vets who will train you in veterinary practice and make a difference in the lives of Cape Town's neglected animals by volunteering at an animal shelter. The shelter's core aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats. On an average day the shelter cares for around 170 dogs and puppies and 130 cats and kittens! Throughout your stay in Cape Town you will have the support and guidance of our experienced project managers and we have a number of staff working to ensure your stay with us is perfect! They are part of our greater African Impact support team, which will provide you with competent 24-hour field support and assistance. At the shelter you will also be assigned a supervisor on your first day who will be able to advise and support you during your placement.

The beaches are stunning and there is a wealth of activities to keep you busy during your time off including the famous V & A Waterfront and Robben Island, the heritage site of Nelson Mandela's prison home. Cape Town is also the gateway to the stunning Western Cape winelands.

The popular Garden Route and Wild Coast is a collection of unrivaled surf spots, beautiful beaches, stunning landscapes and cultural stops, with a wealth of activities to offer. Consider visiting these while you are in South Africa, you won't be sorry!
