KEI's program in Pune offers a wide selection of courses and internships. Internships are available in: -business -marketing -finance -information technology -computer science -international relations -journalism -media -tourism -hospitality -environment -medicine -health administration and humanitarian aid
Highlights:
KEI's Onsite Director and Symbiosis support staff are available to assist students during the entire program. On arrival, students will be met at the airport and transferred to campus. A comprehensive orientation will introduce students to life in India and cover the following topics: * using public transportation * registration * academic expectations * safety and security * cultural adaptation * social activities to meet your fellow students Students are placed in local and international companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), schools and humanitarian aid organizations. Medical and health administration internships are arranged at community clinics and hospitals. Student Life: Students live on campus in double-occupancy rooms. Each room is equiped with two beds, desks and dressers. Rooms are shared with Indian, international or American students - depending on your interest. A meal plan is included in the program fee. The campus cafeteria offers a variety of Indian specialties. There is, of course, a myriad of restaurants and cafes to choose from in Pune. Compared to the USA, the cost of food is inexpensive. Excursions: * Pune * Mumbai * Delhi * Agra (Taj Mahal) * Jaipur * Ajanta Ellora The on-site staff also plans cultural excursions and organize social events to help students integrate into Indian society. Qualifications:
Internships require a minimum commitment of 120 hours (3 credits), term paper and regular meetings with an internship supervisor. Note that most companies/organizations require a commitment of 240 or more hours (6 credits). Students enrolled in an internship can enroll in 3 additional courses during the semester and 2 additional courses during the summer (2 months). Students can also participate in community service at humanitarian organizations, schools, orphanages and other organizations. Community service does not require a minimum commitment; schedules are more flexible than for intenrships. There is no credit for community service. Students who need academic credit should consider the internship option.
