Description:
This program aims to: - To gain professional business related work experience - To gain an understanding about the British work culture - To improve business communication skills - To start to develop a professional network of contacts - To have the opportunity to live in the UK for around 3 months and learn more about the culture of the north of England, travel and have fun meeting new people. Typical placements tend to be within a SME (Small to Medium Sized Enterprise) as participants tend to have a better training experience within a smaller company with regards to the type of tasks and activities they undertake. Many placements look into market research, market entry strategies and other marketing-related type activities such as use of web 2.0 technology within a company. But other placements have been in the areas of logistics and HR, depending on the requirements of the participants. Please note, at this time, placements within finance are not available.

Qualifications:
EU or EEA nationals who are studying a Business or related degree program and interested in gaining professional hands-on work experience within a SME in north east England (Newcastle, Gateshead or Sunderland). It is ideal for people who are required to do a semester long internship as a part of their academic degree program. Also, most internships are unpaid due to the short duration, so participants are advised to seek EU Erasmus placement or Leonardo grant funding through their home universities.

Salary / Pay: Most internships tend to be unpaid. In a few circumstances, host companies might contribute towards local travel expenses, but participants should budget and prepare for an unpaid placement as the duration is less than 4 months.
