Description: The Step into Hospitality USA programme aims to provide you with an opportunity to get some professional experience within the Hospitality Industry and enhance your CV. This is an ideal chance to acquire the practical knowledge necessary for your career in hospitality whilst getting a better understanding of American society and culture.

As an intern you are able to share the cross-cultural and professional knowledge you gained during your time in the U.S. when you return home. The Step into Hospitality USA programme also allows Americans to learn about your culture and expertise of your home country.

The Step into Hospitality USA programme uses the US J1 exchange visa.

Internship positions are normally paid and typically within hotels, resorts and tourism boards. The nature of the positions will offer you the chance to put your academic knowledge into practice and gain professional work experience.

The programme can last up to 12 months, so is ideal for participants to do either as a summer programme, semester programme or a year-long sandwich course.

Qualifications: Participants need the following qualifications:
- to be native English speakers or if a non-native speaker, to have proof of IELTS at least 6.5 or above
- to be enrolled in a University course in the areas of Hospitality, Tourism or related subjects
- to have completed at least 1 year (preferably 2 years) of your course
- to be interested in pursuing a career in the area of hospitality management or tourism.
