Volunteer and Intern: Transfer Your Knowledge on Solar Energy to Indonesia

Description: Indonesia is now facing a problem of electricity supply, whilst it is a country of enough sun light the whole year. It has the potential in utilizing solar energy to solve the problem and on the other hand it will contribute to the reduction of carbon emission.

It is time to introduce solar energy system to the people of Indonesia. We need the help of volunteers or interns who have the knowledge of solar energy technique to disseminate the knowledge to our people. The volunteers could be an expert, engineer or scientist but non experts are also welcome. As long as he/she has something to tell about solar energy, it is enough. Even if you have some experience it the usage of solar lighting, will also be alright. Our people in general have no experience in this field. Appropriate technology such as training in the making of solar cooker for rural community will also be very wellcome.

This volunteering opportunity is also advantageous for people who are in this business to open up new market in our area. There could be a large market potential of the products in rural area as well as in urban area.

Highlights:
Your activities can be one or more of the following list depending on your preference:
* Taking part in half a day discussion
* Become a resource person in a one day seminar
* Doing a presentation with power point in a small meetings
* Giving lectures on solar energy
* Become a trainer in a training work shop in solar energy training
* Training local people in making solar cookers suitable for rural area
* Supervising an installation of photo voltaic panel if there is project
* Making a survey on capacity requirement of solar energy installations
* All other activities which can contribute in the dissemination of the knowledge

Qualifications:
* at least 18 years old
* in a good health
* travel and insurance coverage
* readiness to be in and enjoy being in a different culture
* enjoy visits other places and meet other people.
* enjoy transfer of knowledge

Cost Include Description:

* Picking up at the international airport of Makassar
* Room/accommodation
* Food twice a day during at home if and only if accommodated in a family as host. Otherwise, if accommodated in guest house, the volunteer can cook for themselves or eat in small restaurants around the guest house which is relatively very cheap, around USD2 per day.
* Maximum three first days city orientation
* In country staff support such as consultation and advice
