Description:
Join local NGO's in grass-roots efforts to support economic and social growth through community outreach efforts in such areas as minority policy advocacy, small business and community development, and women's rights. Earn valuable hands on experience while working side by side with the local communities facing challenging social issues and providing critical information to help them understand social and economic impediments that are holding them back such as ethnic discrimination, substandard living conditions, marginalized workforces, and a lack of private sector investment. Immerse yourself in a small community, performing meaningful development work, and exploring the cultural and natural beauty of Peru. The dual focus of development work and adventures enables tremendous growth experiences for all program participants. Programs are highly supported by an on-site staff team and welcoming community partners. ProWorld, founded in 1998, is a true leader in the fields of study abroad and international development. Teams of ProWorld Project Coordinators work year round with our host communities assessing needs, thinking creatively, and setting long-term goals for sustainable development and volunteer projects. Programs start every month of the year. Enroll now!
