Description:
This is a home stay program, basically the volunteer stays with a family in rural or urban center and assists the family in their daily chores like cooking, playing with the kids, getting water and fire wood depending with the family, farming, washing and any other assignment given to her by the family.
Highlights:
An orientation will be conducted for all participants to highlight more on all aspects relating to their project upon arrival. The volunteer program locations are all over Kenya. Volunteer Accommodation: While volunteering, volunteers will be accommodated in either a home stay or dormitory situation. Host families have all been carefully selected to provide you with a safe family environment and an insight into Kenyan life. Reception of Volunteers A member of staff will meet you on arrival and help transport you to your location.
Qualifications:
* Men and women above 18 years of age from all countries, regardless of race, religion or education. * Open minded people who can learn and share new and old skills and knowledge with others. * Participants who are willing to adapt to their situation regardless of phobias, fears of distractions. * Participants who are development focused.
Cost Include Description:
The costs you need to meet are: Your air ticket to and from the country, visa fees, vaccinations, local travel costs, accommodation costs outside project and insurance. You will also need a weekly budget of around 10 euro to cover your expenses like bottled water, personal effects, public transport, beverages, entertainment and transport costs to and from project site.Program participation fees: Application fee is 60.00 euro and covers administration, program information, communication and the airport pick up. With the remainder of your fee due for payment eight weeks before you begin your placement.
