Description:
Each intern can expect exposure to this organization's expanding outreach efforts that include traditional and new media. Based on each individual intern's goals and interests, tasks might include: * Drafting releases and advisories * Preparing for and staffing press events * Researching reporters and outlets to target * Maintaining media database * Updating clips * Other writing and research tasks assigned by the Directors of Communications and Marketing This internship provides an excellent opportunity to make a contribution and to learn how a vibrant nonprofit raises public awareness that helps advance the organizations mission and goals.

Qualifications:
- You must be at least 19 years old. - Placement should be in your field of study and you must have relevant course work/work experience in the field. - You must be a US, Canadian or Australian citizen or already be in the US on a work/study visa. - Excellent communication and research skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of HTML and/or AP style a plus.
