Dates: Various start dates, minimum of 1 month time commitment, 2 months is preferred.
Description:
Participants with previous medical experience or relevant course studies are eligible to be placed in one of the larger hospitals in the Cusco area. This hospital is equipped with modern facilities and has doctors with many specializations. Interns can work in a variety of different departments.
Highlights:
While working with a clinic in Peru not only will you gain experience in the medical field, you will also have a direct impact on the health of the community. This isn't just a vacation or a tour, this is a cultural immersion in which you will no doubt come out of knowing more about your self and another culture and have gained experience all at the same time!
Qualifications:
Language Requirement: Intermediate to advanced level of Spanish. Language lessons can be arranged in Cusco prior to beginning the placement in order to help interns reach this level of ability. Education: Pre-med or medical students preferred. Previous medical experience required.
