Dates: Program has various start dates throughout the year but a commitment of at least one month is required, 2 is preferred.
Description:
Interns will be working in the delivery room of a clinic to assist the nurses and doctors with births. There will be frequent patient interaction as interns will be supporting and guiding mothers through labor. This clinic is also the leading location institution in vertical birthing. About half of the births are traditional and the other half are vertical.
Highlights:
Experience Peru in a way that wouldn't be possible as just a tourist! Get hands on experience with an Obstetrics clinic in Cusco that will not only help those in the community but will advance your knowledge as a medical student.
Qualifications:
*An intermediate to advanced level of Spanish (classes offered before the beginning of the internship)
*Pre-medical or medical students preferred
