Description:
The Uni-Break program offers students the opportunity to take intensive Spanish classes while interning or volunteering in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A volunteer placement is also available in the Patagonia region of Argentina in Junin de los Andes at an agrarian-focused high school. Uni-Break students have the option to take an intensive Spanish course at the language center at the University of Buenos Aires where all levels of Spanish are offered. Students choose to participate in an internship or volunteer placement and will also choose what type of housing they want. The choices for housing are as follows: Student Residence, Homestay, Shared Apartment, and Exclusive Apartment. Road2Argentina's offers internships in Buenos Aires in the following fields: - Medicine - International Business - Law - Marketing - English as a Second Language (ESL) Teaching - Journalism - Graphic and Web Design -Tourism - Politics - Human Rights - Zoology Uni-Break participants can also choose to do a volunteer placement in Buenos Aires in one of the following fields: - Teaching English to children and/or adults vocational training - Working at a bakery that provides baked goods for resale, sold by local unemployed families - Play time with children - Community activities with children such as fĂștbol matches, birthday parties, hospital visits and toy drives - Working at a "comedor" (soup kitchen) - Working at a day care for infants and toddlers of underprivileged families - Home construction Road2Argentina also offers a volunteer placement in Junin de los Andes(Patagonia) where volunteers work and live at a rural school for children who would otherwise not have an opportunity to attend school.
Highlights:
Uni-Break participants will gain valuable hands-on experience with either a local volunteer organization or a carefully-selected internship at a leading Buenos Aires firm of their choice.
Qualifications:
Participants should be at least 18 years old and have at least a basic understanding of Spanish while some internship/volunteer placements require a higher level. Applicants should be able to present a resume/CV in Spanish as well as a letter of intent for their preferred placement choice.

Typical Volunteer: A typical volunteer who participates in a Road2Argentina volunteer placement is between 20-26 years old and wants to experience Argentina from a different point of view. Our volunteers want to give back to the local community and improve their Spanish skills in an immersion environment.
