Description:
Intern and gain hands-on experience in Oaxaca, Mexico. Oaxaca is a world cultural heritage site and home to Pre-Colombian archeology, Spanish colonial history and a thriving art community. As an intern, you will work abroad with a local community organization in the fields of the environment, health care, or social/economic development. Your project is determined by community need as well as your skills and interests. You will be part of real, sustainable development. A designated Project Coordinator guides each intern through the project planning, execution, and conclusion of their program. Live with a local family, take Spanish classes tailored to your level, and immerse yourself in the local culture. Programs also include cultural and adventure excursions including visits to Zapotec ruins, hikes in the mountains around Oaxaca and local festivities.
