Description:
You will help clean up our computer system by setting up a new network server and linking all PCs linked to that server. Also you will clean up all PCs and streamline, the current system and maximize disc space.
Highlights:
This opportunity with Keystone View is based in the town of Bagaces, within the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The company itself is situated approximately 1.5 km from Bagaces. Transportation costs to and from Costa Rica for the internship/consultant program is the sole responsibility of the intern or consultant. You can purchase a second hand bike, take a taxi or walk - any of which will take you no more than 20 minutes. There is an informal and relaxed atmosphere within Keystone View. You will have the opportunity to work independently and in teams on the projects assigned to you from inception to completion. The working week is from 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday and Friday 7:30am - 3:15pm. You are allowed two fifteen minute breaks and thirty minutes for lunch during the workday. Keystone View will provide you with a weekly stipend paid directly into a Costa Rican bank account. The account will be opened once you arrive. The weekly wage, US$200, is paid at the end of the week, in the local currency. This weekly wage provides an adequate amount of money to pursue your interests and explore other regions within Costa Rica on the weekends. Keystone View is an American company operating in Costa Rica and there are many English speakers, however, the primary language spoken by the employees is Spanish. Spanish is a plus, but is not required. There are Spanish lessons available at an additional cost to you. Qualifications:
Responsibilities include all facets of LAN and WAN network engineering, troubleshooting. The Network Engineer will manage devices across diverse vendor platforms. Skills Required: - Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP protocols, OSI model, related protocols and applications. - Proficient with routing protocols, mainly OSPF and BGP. - Layer 4 load balancing mechanisms. - VRRP/HSRP deployment and troubleshooting experience. - Unix syntax, and network device configuration. - Proficient knowledge of internet topology and routing. - Extensive experience in configuring and managing routers and CLI's. - Troubleshooting techniques and experience (ping, traceroute, diagnostics methodology etc.) - Good analytical approach to problem. - Must work well in a team atmosphere and interface effectively with other teams. - Must have sound communication skills, both written and verbal. - Must maintain flexibility in the face of changing requirements. - Candidates should also have the ability and flexibility to manage a number of engineering projects at one time. Skills Desired: - DNS knowledge and experience is a plus. - Secure protocols, security concepts such as VPN setups, IPSEC tunneling, encryption methods is also a plus. - Proficient skills in Unix/shell/Perl scripting. - Experience with all the Windows platforms
