Youth Community Development Workers

Durations of Program: 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months

Description: Young People We Care (YPWC) is currently recruiting 2-3 interns for the summer months (July & August) to assist us with the development of our Millenium Development Goal Clubs. These MDG Clubs are intended to not only make young people aware of the MDGs but to also get them directly involved in helping their country meet their targets.

Highlights: Interns are needed to assist with the following duties:
*Recruitment of youth leaders to direct clubs within specific schools
*Development of curriculum for MDG clubs
*Assisting youth leaders to form clubs and organize regular meetings and activities
*Assistance with MDG club activity days
*Proposal writing/grant seeking activities related to funding of long-term MDG club activities

Qualifications: The following qualifications and/or skills are required for the position of Youth Community Development Worker:
*Some university is required
*Experience working cross-culturally
*Excellent communication skills
*Knowledge of the Millenium Development Goals
*Experience working with youth between the ages of 9 - 17 years
*Patience and flexibility will be a valuable asset

Cost in US$: $900

Cost Include Description:
All interns are expected to make a contribution of $900 for an eight-week internship. This contribution will cover the following:
*Airport pickup
*Airport drop-off
*Three-meals daily
*Accommodation in a comfortable homestay setting throughout your internship
*24/7 In-country support

This fee does not cover airfare, insurance or in-country transportation costs.
