Term: Throughout the year
Durations of Program: 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Typical Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Dates: All year round

Description: This organization is part of a Pan African organization established out of a belief that there was a need to focus on the NGO sector and women in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The Ghana Office was established in 1990 and has since then been actively involved in education and advocacy programs on HIV/AIDS. The mission is to advocate on behalf women, children and families in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and mobilize communities by strengthening their capacity to control, prevent and mitigate the impact of the epidemic.

The organization's main objectives are to sensitize, educate and raise the awareness of Ghanaian women, especially rural Ghanaian women with regards to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and related issues.

They also aim to undertake AIDS control activities that will be more acceptable and receptive to the Ghanaian woman based on her socio-cultural and educational background.

Additionally, they examine ways of working with existing women's organizations, National AIDS control programme and other NGOS in the fight against the AIDS epidemic, and to promote the reproductive health of Ghanaian women in general.

The role will be quite hectic with a minimum of 8 hours of work required.
