Description: Pro Mujer teaches women how to secure a steady income through microfinance, business training and healthcare support. By providing financial and human development services, Pro Mujer fights poverty and empowers women to become active members of society. Pro Mujer also provides health care support to women and their families, and links them to other services in the community.

PRO MUJER Programs

- Providing healthcare at $0.50 a month, offering women and their families with primary services including PAP tests for early cancer detection, STD tests, vaccinations, and pediatrics
- Training for young entrepreneurs to help start their own business
- Computer training, English lessons, reading, writing and arithmetic for children
- A day care center
- Legal support

Highlights: Our primary objective is to provide Bolivian organizations with much needed human and financial resources while providing international travelers, students and professionals the opportunity to gain practical work experience through internships and volunteer opportunities in Bolivia.

For all individuals wishing to donate their time, Sustainable Bolivia offers free airport pick up, free orientation and city map, as well as 24 hour staff support. Additionally we provide low cost Spanish or Quechua language lessons, free internet access, unlimited free calls to US and select European landlines, family stay opportunities, private or shared accommodations and reduced travel prices to one of our sustainable ecotourism destinations. We also organize optional social and cultural activities in the evening and on weekends.

Qualifications: Internship requirements:
- Intermediate Spanish
- Minimum commitment period of three months
- Experience and/or knowledge in relevant fields (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work independently as well as within a group
