Ski or Snowboard Instructor Level Two (Budget Condo)
Canada
- British Columbia:
Whistler
Dates: 29 November 2008, 10 January 2009, 21 February 2009
Description:
Start as a keen intermediate skier or rider and progress to Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance qualification as a Ski Instructor Level 2, or Canadian Association of Snowboard Instuctors Level 2 - the passports to winter job opportunities worldwide. The course is equally attractive if you simply want to improve your technical knowledge and ability on the slopes. We cover methods of detection and correction and help you to apply these to yourself as you learn the latest techniques. You start with two weeks of ski training in preparation for the Level 1 instructor course in your third week. This is where you develop your interpersonal skills and learn the specific CSIA method for teaching beginners. The course continues with a further two weeks of practical and theoretical skills development leading to the Level 2 instructor assessment in the final week of the programme. Once qualified, it is possible for you to work with this qualification in many other countries (including Switzerland, Austria, Andorra, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia and New Zealand). If you want to work in Canada as a non-resident immediately after an early-season course, you must sort out your work visa in advance. Use the Fish Essentials link for visa information. We provide 2-star budget accommodation, a dual-mountain lift pass which is valid six days a week, five days' guiding/instruction each week (four hours a day), video analysis, lift queue priority and equipment seminars. If you would like to stay in more comfortable 3-star accommodation at Whistler, see our Standard Condos. If you would like us to arrange travel from London to Vancouver, contact us to request the flight price.
