Costa Rica
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: 8 to 52 weeks
Description:
Costa Rica (literally "Rich Coast"), officially the Republic of Costa Rica, is a country in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south-southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, and the Caribbean Sea to the east. Costa Rica was the first country in the world to constitutionally abolish its army. The highest point in the country is Cerro Chirripó, with 3,810 metres (12,500 ft), and is the fifth highest peak in Central America. The highest volcano in the country is the Irazu Volcano (3,431 m / 11,257 ft). The largest lake in Costa Rica is Lake Arenal. Costa Rica protects over 25% of its national territory within the Protected Areas system. It also possesses the greatest density of species in the world. * Industry In recent times electronics, pharmaceuticals, financial outsourcing, software development and ecotourism, have become the prime industries in Costa Rica's economy. High levels of education among its residents make the country an attractive investing location. You can see that Costa Rica is the ideal place to complete an internship abroad. The economy has grown in Costa Rica in part because the Government implemented a seven-year plan of expansion in the high tech industry. The central government offers tax exemptions for those who are willing to invest in the country. * Nature Internships in Ecotourism are especially popular in Costa Rica because of the countries nature. Costa Rica is home to a rich variety of plants and animals. While the country covers only about 0.1% of the world's landmass, it contains 5% of the world's biodiversity. Over 25% of Costa Rica is composed of protected forests and reserves. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve hosts two thousand plant species, including numerous orchids. Over four hundred types of birds can be found here, and over one hundred species of mammals. As a whole, around eight hundred species of birds have been identified in Costa Rica. The Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad (INBIO) is allowed to collect royalties on any biological discoveries of medical importance.
Highlights:
An internship abroad is the best experience you can have for your professional as well as for your personal development. Experiencing a foreign culture, and having to get organized in a foreign place, are very good ways to broaden your horizons. And when applying for a job, some experience abroad is often expected. It goes without saying that personnel departments expect most applicants to have knowledge of English as a foreign language. Having a good knowledge of a second foreign language makes you stand out against competitors and, in most cases, opens the door for an interview. For people interested in an internship in Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica) and Spain (Alicante, Madrid, Sevilla, Malaga, Salamanca, Valencia), we arrange placements at a reasonable price. Placements in Spain and Latin America can be obtained in all fields at any time and for any period of time. We also make arrangements for applicants to find accommodation at a reasonable price for the time of their internship.
Qualifications:
In order to prepare you for the Internship we offer language courses in the local language. Because it is important for us to provide a high quality of language course we only work together with specially chosen language schools. This way you can rest assured that you will be taught by professional teachers that will prepare you fully for the coming Internship.
