Description:
This organisation on the Buduburam Refugee Settlement has as mission to prioritize child education and create opportunity for youth empowerment and sensitisation through communications to enhance people's fundamental human rights and promote freedom of speech. They facilitate community development, in partnership for sustainable promotion for good governance and social integration for all. The organisations objectives include: Organisation Objective(s): - To train journalists to report on and promote Human Rights Education, HIV/AIDS education and sanitation. - To create partnership in protecting children rights and sponsor child education. - Promote anti-violence against women and children. - To offer communicable skills and raise and receive funds for sustainable development support. - To run a network of volunteers for social work in community development. They are looking for a journalist to work on the newspaper for the Refugee Settlement.
Qualifications:
The Intern should have a relevant degree and preferably some work experience. Interns must have a strong interest in refugee issues and commitment to teaching refugees skills that will enable them to be economically independent. You will need to be flexible and tolerant, show initiative and enthusiasm to face the many hurdles and challenges that you will encounter. You will have to be able to cope with basic living and working conditions.
