Internship description:
You will be given a detailed brief of the project, with the requirements of the brief, you will be responsible, first, for the interior conceptual design of our courtyards, bringing new ideas and stimulate the creativity of our design team, followed by detailed interior and/or furniture design, and finally 3-D model making with CAD software of your choice. You will be able to work with the project supervisor and possibly one or two other interns depending on the nature of the project. You'll also be able to participate in the preliminary conceptual planning of the courtyards, which includes client meetings, site visiting and decision making of main structures of our stunning Chinese courtyards.

China Courtyards Co. is a start up company specialized in high-end renovation and rental of traditional Chinese courtyards in the Old Beijing. As the city expands, courtyards are now a rare species that only exists in central Beijing, and this job allows you to explore the heart and soul of this unique architecture dating from as far as 500 years ago. With the help of our collegues, you will find yourself mixing contempory elements into traditional framework, bringing West into the East and realise some of your most creative design ideas as all is possible in China.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Architectural or interior design background.
- Good communication skills, it is essential for stimulating the creativity of our design team.
- Excellent skills with CAD software, especially 3D model making.
- Ability meeting deadlines, as we'll be working at a very fast pace with strict schedules.
- Chinese level: Beginner/intermediate, Chinese speaking is not essential as all of our design team speaks English and/or French, but as our courtyards are uniquely Chinese, you will be expected to master simple structural and architectural terms after a few weeks of working.
