In the area of Social Work, Public Health and Medicine, Costa Rica Internship Institute (CRINI) has started a special program designed for students interest in having a hands on experience in this field. The Public Health Program offers opportunities working on the prevention of health issues, women's health, alternative medicine, gender oriented medicine, medicine and human rights, Holistic Medicine, and Physical Therapy. Also, CRINI offers internships in national parks, community development organizations, women's groups, businesses, and indigenous reserves. The Internship Program (IP) at CRINI was formed in response to requests from both students who wanted academic credit and individuals who wanted institutional support for practical field experience in a Costa Rican setting. In agreement with the basic philosophy of the Institute, the goal of each internship is to benefit both the intern and the host community of the organization.

Also, the Program includes professionals, researchers and individuals who are clearly focused or have specific areas of interest or expertise.
