Description: The primary function of the field worker is to visit the orphans living with guardians at their home, schools and villages. Collect data on their living situations and report this information to the supervisor. The data is not limited to the number of people living in the child's family, type of housing, availability of water, food, clothes etc, and possibly address basic hygiene issues such as use of toilet, proper ways of cleaning and cooking food, boiling water for drinking, preventive ways for diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and typhoid.

Highlights: Watoto wa Baraka is a registered non-profit committed to provide education and other programs that are appropriate for the growth and development of the children mainly orphans, street kids, and at risk youth.

Qualifications: Good people skills, caring for the needy, hygiene cautious, able to withstand long walking, able to keep record.

Typical Volunteer: Duties include: - Assisting with identification of need - Visiting local schools to speak with teachers - Spending time with orphans and their families - Gathering information (such as the type of housing, the availability of water, food and clothes and level of sanitation) - Assisting orphans to correspond with sponsors (writing letters or drawing pictures) - Distributing needed supplies (books, pencils, food, etc) as required - Assist local families to address health, sanitation, education, employment issues, etc - Assist in mediating situations, as required - Case management - Administration and management of information in a confidential manner including updating files, collecting photos and providing reports - Providing recommendations for courses of action including the assignment of sponsors

Age Range: 18 and above

This Program is open to American, Australian, Canadian, European, Kiwi, South African and World Wide Participants. This Program is also open to Families, Couples and Individuals
