Description:
Volunteers will be teaching in local Dominican grade schools and the Orphanage Outreach English Institute during the school year, and conducting camps during the summer.
Highlights:
Volunteers will be living and working in Monte Cristi, a small fishing village on the north coast of the Dominican Republic near the Haiti border. Far from the tourists, Monte Cristi offers the opportunity to live in the traditional Dominican Republic.
Qualifications:
Volunteers must be enthusiastic, flexible, creative, and enjoy children. Great for gap year, college internships, and anyone with an interest in making a difference in the lives of orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children. No teaching experience necessary. A working knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not necessary.
