Training by a Licensed Guide Outfitter...it is what makes the difference in the quality of the guide in Adventure Tourism. We have been training wilderness guides since 1990. People from all over the world, from all walks of life, have graduated from our programs and have gone on to fill the employment needs of the adventure tourism industry throughout the world. Wilderness Guide Training School, Programs: Horseback Guide, Hike, Angling, Wildlife Guide, Adventure Tourism, survival skills. These Programs are about guiding in the wilderness, and provide participants with a solid base of combined working knowledge and practical skills. Programs are designed for a) individuals intent on learning the basic skills required by a professional guide in adventure tourism, b) individuals with a goal to own or manage their own adventure tourism business, and c) individuals that want an educational holiday. You will learn Western Mountain riding, horse handling, every step of horse shoeing, how to pack just about everything onto a packhorse, wilderness skills, camp preparation and much more. These are all fundamental skills required on wildlife and photographic safaris, guest ranches, Licensed Guide Outfitting adventures, horse pack trips, fishing adventures, horse supported hiking and other wilderness adventures.
Highlights:
Elective Courses: Students will also have access to a number of elective courses, which can be taken once the Lodge management program has been completed. The available electives are as follows; One or Two Week Wilderness Guide Training, One Week Advanced Wilderness Guide Training, One Week Guide Outfitter Training, One Week Tourism Management Training, One Week Angling Guide Training, One Week Hike Guide Training, One Week Horse Logging, One Week Wilderness Log Cabin Building. These courses build on student's existing knowledge and provide them with essential skills for a wilderness lifestyle. The opportunity also presents itself to take part in a practicum once completed an elective course as mentioned above.
