Description:
Duties here include: - saddling, preparing, brushing cleaning etc. of horses - mucking out stalls/leanto's - riding on trail rides as a guide - helping with foaling, imprint training or sales of foals (season dependent) - handling horses and stable on own IF and WHEN necessary - assisting with deparasitizing horses and annual shots - maintaining stables and grounds, feeding grounds guard dogs - letting horses out for grazing and rounding up in evening to bring in. - riding horses to maintain training
Highlights:
You get to live in one of the most beautiful parts of Greece! within a huge national park with many wildlife viewing opportunities. Riding and handling great horses daily. We are a 2 hour drive from the ionian coast for summertime applicants, and have an amazing natural swim hole 10 min walk from the village. Also located near one of Europes cleanest rivers. Plentiful hikes, treks, walks either alongside the river, along the Vikos gorge (deepest gorge in the world), or in the awe inspiring mountains with each season providing its own beauty.
Qualifications:
The position requires basic horsemanship skills, comfortable with animals, ability to work in all weather conditions, an independent nature, openess to a different culture/traditions, capable of living in a remote mountain village. Positive extras to have but not required are horse training experience, extensive horse knowledge, drivers license, first aid training.
