Description:
AustraLearn provides high-quality internships in Australia and New Zealand. A variety of internship programs exist, including full-time, professional development internships with 6 credits from Chapman University, custom designed internships, and part-time study/internship options at a variety of universities in Australia. The Professional Development for Academic Credit (PDAC) Internships are preset placements in a variety of fields of study. These internships are 10 weeks in length and can take place during the summer or semester. They are pre-arranged and include an official transcript from Chapman University upon completion. New internships and sites are being added throughout the year, so please visit our website for all internship placement profiles. Current internships include: communications, public affairs, education (student teaching), environmental management, information technology, law and social welfare; however more internships will be added throughout the year in additional fields of study. Custom Designed Internships are also provided by AustraLearn. AustraLearn facilitates students into these professional development internships and can combine the programs with other AustraLearn programs. AustraLearn can arrange internships in Australia for a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of 52 weeks in duration. Internships are available year round for 6, 10, 12 or 16 or more weeks beginning anytime. Application deadline is 4 months prior to the intended starting date. Part-time internship/study options are available at a variety of universities in New Zealand. While taking one or two courses at a university, a student will participate in a 15-20 hour internship in a specific field of study. Contact us for more information about all our internship options.
Highlights:
The following services are included in the fees for an internship: Six credits are awarded for the 10 week PDAC internships. Orientation and briefing sessions, pre-trip services, student supervision, pre-arranged housing and 24-hour support services are provided by AustraLearn staff in the U.S and Australia. The full time AustraLearn staff, in Australia and the U.S., is dedicated to maintaining the quality of the placements through constant interaction with the internship supervisor and the participants. This specialized service presents students with the opportunity to take part in a very unique program, not offered by any other source. Custom Designed * Arrangement of placement in an internship in accordance with the intern's specifications - for custom designed internships(GIS) * Airport transfers on arrival and departure in the city or town where the placement is arranged * Living accommodations with an Australian family (includes private bedroom and breakfast and evening meals each day) or in a shared apartment (no meals are included for this accommodation choice) * A liaison service between the intern and their employer * A liaison service between the intern and their college or university * An on-call general administration and welfare support service to provide interns with any assistance in dealing with personal, social, legal, academic or other problems that they may encounter during their stay in Australia

For PDAC: 2.5 GPA, junior class status For Custom Designed: no requirements For Part-Time Study/Internships: 2.5 GPA (or higher in some cases), one year university completed
