Isle of Wight: 4 weeks to 12 weeks. * Location The English Riviera is an excellent destination for young people to enjoy. Its mild climate, extensive nightlife and diverse range of commerce and industry make it an interesting place for work, study, rest, play and inter-cultural exchange. Torbay, commonly called Torbay, is the biggest town within the bay and one of the UK's Top holiday resorts. The town is surrounded by a beautiful coastline and vibrant countryside. Torquay always attracts a large number of international visitors during the summer and winter months. Tourists, visitors and students spend time enjoying themselves on the beaches, participate in water sports, visit local attractions and spend time in the shops, pubs and nightclubs. Torquay is renowned for its exciting nightlife and boasts many restaurants, bars and clubs - the area around Torquay's harbour is particularly popular with the younger generation. The three towns and the surrounding countryside of Torbay offer a wide variety of sports facilities and cultural activities. The student will find everything from Golf and Tennis, to Paintball and Parachuting, all within easy travelling distance. The Isle of Wight is an English island and county, off the southern English coast, to the south of the county of Hampshire. Being one of the furthest south points in the UK, the Isle of Wight has a warmer climate than other areas which results in high levels of tourism, particularly along the south of the island. It also has a longer growing season than other areas in the UK. Tourism is still the largest industry on the Island. In 1999, the 130,000 Island residents were host to 2.7 million visitors. From the census taken in 2001, the islands population was at 132,731. The Isle of Wight's county town is Newport, in the centre of the island. There are also smaller towns along the coasts particularly on the east side of the Island. Many of these such as Sandown and Ryde attract many tourists each year. By far the main form of access is by boat from the mainland, with regular vehicle ferry services and passenger services being available through the ferry companies. * Language Courses EU students may choose to attend a full English learning program prior to their Internship Placement. Non-EU students must attend a full language program of at least 15 hours per week during their Internship Placement. It allows them to have a 20 hours placement per week. The combination of the language and the internship placement allow them to get a valid student visa.
