Term: Throughout the year
Dates: All year long.

Description: Nacel International is very pleased to provide you with Unpaid Internships in a variety of sectors, in the Devon region (South West of England) and on the Isle of Wight.

Unpaid internships are usually chosen by students who are still in education or have just left education, this type of placement is for the purpose of understanding how work is conducted in the UK, and enables the student to improve his/her ability to speak English, understand the UK work ethic and experience cultural diversity. Students must be prepared to fund / pay for their entire stay in the UK. Many of our EU students are funded by the Leonardo da Vinci Mobility programme.

Nacel International can provide an extensive range of employment sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to acquire a valuable Vocational Training through the development of language, business, interpersonal, and cultural skills.

They will be considered as a member of the firm where they will develop and fulfil their potential. In the sector of Administration, Public Relations, Child Care, Health & Leisure, Economics, Journalism, Secretarial, Engineering, Import Export, Translation, Environmental, Law, Tourism Finance, Marketing, Transport / Logistics, Graphics Design & CAD, Pharmaceuticals, internships are not paid but training are always a good opportunities to learn in order to gain experience on CV and to better know in which sector they really want to work in their business future. At work, they will also have to observe company policy with regards to timekeeping, discipline, standards of dress, health and safety, and so on.

Placements are usually located in Torquay, Paignton, Plymouth or Exeter in the Devon or on the Isle of Wight.

Highlights:
* Length
English Riviera: 8 weeks to 16 weeks. Longer placements may be arranged with an additional fee.
Isle of Wight: 4 weeks to 12 weeks.

* Location
The English Riviera is an excellent destination for young people to enjoy. Its mild climate, extensive nightlife and diverse range of commerce and industry make it an interesting place for work, study, rest, play and inter-cultural exchange.

Torbay, commonly called Torbay, is the biggest town within the bay and one of the UK's Top holiday resorts. The town is surrounded by a beautiful coastline and vibrant countryside. Torquay always attracts a large number of international visitors during the summer and winter months. Tourists, visitors and students spend time enjoying themselves on the beaches, participate in water sports, visit local attractions and spend time in the shops, pubs and nightclubs.

Torquay is renowned for its exciting nightlife and boasts many restaurants, bars and clubs - the area around Torquay's harbour is particularly popular with the younger generation. The three towns and the surrounding countryside of Torbay offer a wide variety of sports facilities and cultural activities.

The student will find everything from Golf and Tennis, to Paintball and Parachuting, all within easy travelling distance.

The Isle of Wight is an English island and county, off the southern English coast, to the south of the county of Hampshire. Being one of the furthest south points in the UK, the Isle of Wight has a warmer climate than other areas which results in high levels of tourism, particularly along the south of the island. It also has a longer growing season than other areas in the UK. Tourism is still the largest industry on the Island. In 1999, the 130,000 Island residents were host to 2.7 million visitors. From the census taken in 2001, the islands population was at 132,731. The Isle of Wight's county town is Newport, in the centre of the island. There are also smaller towns along the coasts particularly on the east side of the Island. Many of these such as Sandown and Ryde attract many tourists each year. By far the main form of access is by boat from the mainland, with regular vehicle ferry services and passenger services being available through the ferry companies.

* Language Courses
EU students may choose to attend a full English learning program prior to their Internship Placement.

Non-EU students must attend a full language program of at least 15 hours per week during their Internship Placement. It allows them to have a 20 hours placement per week. The combination of the language and the internship placement allow them to get a valid student visa.

We can provide our students with a full Language Programme, which is all about the skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Grammar with a particular focus on communication.

Qualifications:
* Eligibility : 18 to 25 years old.

* Language Requirements: at least an intermediate level of English.

* Visa and Regulations and Insurance
Due to the British Government regulations, the program format varies according to the nationality of the student.

- EU citizens : EU citizens can chose either the Internship Program or the Language Training Program or both. Participants do not need any visa.

- Commonwealth citizens : Commonwealth citizens are allowed to enter the UK with a student working holiday visa. This entitles them to work and holiday in equal proportion. Half of the stay may be spent working and the other half holidaying. A Working Holiday visa entitles the applicant to earn money during half of their stay in the UK. They can enrol on the Internship Program.

- Non-EU & non-Commonwealth citizens : Non-EU and non-Commonwealth citizens should combine the Internship Program with a course of at least 15 hours tuition per week to obtain a student visa. This will also allow them to work a maximum of 20 hours per week. Courses can be General English or Vocational (Hotel Management, Information Technology, etc...). Students have to enrol on both Internship Program and Language Training Program.

In any case, students should take responsibility for their own insurance cover and MUST have comprehensive cover for the full duration of their stay, prior to arriving in the UK. Nacel International may provide the student with a complete package.
