Description:
The only program that combines language instruction, internship, and sightseeing all in one! Normally this is a four week program but we can also tailor this program to individuals and groups (inquire for group rates) from two weeks to one year. You can start studying, interning, and sightseeing with us right away as our programs start every month. Please be aware that there are no Japanese classes and some internships will have the day off during Japanese holidays. Options: * Language only (contact us for more info) * Language & part-time internship (contact us for more info) * Internship only (contact us for more info) * Instead of an internship, you can study Karate! Schedules: Option 1: Language instruction only (Monday to Friday) 09:00 - 09:50 1st period 10:00 - 10:50 2nd period 11:00 - 11:50 3rd period 12:00 - 12:50 4th period 13:00 - 14:00 Lunch time 14:00 - onwards Free time Option 2: Language instruction (Monday to Friday) 09:00 - 09:50 1st period 10:00 - 10:50 2nd period 11:00 - 11:50 3rd period 12:00 - 12:50 4th period 13:00 - 14:00 Lunch time Option 2: Part-time internship (four hours a day on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday) * Time & length of internship may vary - it depends on what kind of internship but part-time internships are about 12 hours a week. Option 3: Internship only (Monday to Friday) Full-time internship (8 hours a day on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday but only 4 hours a day on Tuesday and Thursday) * Time & length of internship may vary - it depends on what kind of internship but full-time internships are about 32 hours a week. Internship availabilities: (1) Companies - Duty Free Galleria-Okinawa & Island Limousines (2) Education I (Teaching Assistant at Japanese Public Schools elementary & junior high school) (3) Education II (Teaching Assistant at Japanese Junior Colleges) (4) Food Service (Restaurant/Bar) (5) Hotels (Kariyushi hotels, Laguna Garden, The Beach Tower Okinawa, Tokyo Dai-Ichi, & YYY Club Ie Resort) (6) Sports (Scuba diving shop & FC Ryukyu - professional soccer team) * All internships are unpaid. All options include: * 4 cultural activities (per month) * 2 field trips (per month) - Southern, Central, or Northern Okinawa Notes: Cultural activities may include: a BBQ, bowling, calligraphy, cultural exchanges with Okinawans, flower arrangement, golf, karaoke, karate, kimono, Okinawa Dance/Dialect/Music, playing sports/water sports, private parties, tea ceremony, weekend night markets, etc. If this seems like the program you've been looking for, contact us for more information.
Qualifications:
* You need a basic knowledge of Japanese to take part in our program. * We do not have any quotas. As long as you have basic knowledge of Japanese, you will be accepted into our program. * You can join our program at the beginning of every month but you join the class where they are - the class does not start from the beginning every month. * There is a separate 10,000 yen deposit for a cleaning fee and your mobile phone. You get your 10,000 yen back at the end of the program if your room is clean and the phone is not broken.

Cost in US$: Much cheaper than similar programs on the mainland of Japan. Our one month program costs between $2,500 to $3,000 (depending on which program you pick).
Cost Include Description:
* Orientation & orientation packet * Japanese Language placement exam * 66 hours of classroom language instruction * Textbooks (Minna no Nihongo Volume I and II) * A private room in a furnished apartment for 4 weeks * Meals: Lunch is provided Monday to Friday. There is a fully functional kitchen where you can make breakfast & dinner. * 4 cultural activities * 2 field trips (Southern, Central, or Northern Okinawa) * Ground transportation (airport pick-up/drop-off, cultural activities, and field trips) * The only program that gives you a mobile phone * Personal assistance/assistant available 24 hours a day/7 days a week * For an extra price you can also stay at an Okinawan home for a few days.

Okinawa Development International Council & English Teachers in Okinawa's Mission Statement: Okinawa Development International Council (ODIC) is a non profit organization recently recognized by the Okinawa Prefectural Government to improve Okinawan international education programs as well as relations between the Okinawan and American communities. ODIC is working together with English Teachers in Okinawa to provide this program.
