Description:
As a volunteer on the SPW Zambia School Health Education Program you will be required to: * Act as a Role Model - Be a peer to young people in your community, someone they can respect, approach and confide in - Give young people the tools to lead in their own personal development by building their life skills through non-formal education - Empower young people by increasing their knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions * Plan and Run Community and School Based Activities Work with the SPW Zambia programme staff to: - Establish and work with community-based groups (including youth groups, schools and community-based clubs) - Prepare and carry out class room sessions, community activities and club activities covering sexual and reproductive health, life skills and livelihoods - Liaise with community groups, community-based organisations, schools and local governments as needed to effectively implement programme objectives * Work Effectively with Local Volunteers Work in partnership with the local volunteers to implement all your activities at a school, community, and district level. * Network and Build Strong Partnerships with Local Stakeholders - Identify key local stakeholders, including community leaders, religious leaders, teachers, parents, local government councillors and officials. - Form good working relationships with all stakeholders

Qualifications:
Essential qualifications, experience and Skills include: - Ability to work as part of a team and to work alone - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Adaptability and a willingness to work outside regular office hours - Experience of facilitating workshops - A strong personal commitment to the aims and methods of SPW Desirable qualifications, experience and skils include: - A clear understanding of contemporary development issues particularly of HIV/AIDS, preventative health and education - Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment - Basic understanding of international development - High school or university graduate
