Description:
This unique 8-week study abroad program provides students with the opportunity of living in Costa Rica with a host family, while also expanding their international career options through intensive language training and work experience. Internships are available in a wide variety of areas.
Highlights:
Field trips will be scheduled to other regions of Costa Rica in order to acquaint students with different socio-economic areas of the country.
Degree Level: Bachelors Degree (Undergraduate)
Qualifications:
Students at all levels of Spanish fluency are encouraged to apply. During the first three weeks of the program students concentrate on the development of Spanish language and human resource skills. Students are required to provide an essay and resume with their application describing the personal program/internship they are seeking.

Cost Include Description:
- Housing (May 23 - July 18) and two meals daily. Optional extended three-day family stay at no extra cost (depending on arrival date). - Transportation from Juan Santamaria International Airport (if student arrives before 9:00 p.m. on May 23). - International Student I.D. Card. - NIU tuition for 9 semester hours of undergraduate credit. - NIU health insurance.
