Description:
Offering paid guided tours to visiting groups is one way in which the Fundación's Agricultural School strives to meet its goal of being 100% financially self-sufficient. The overall goal of the Outdoor Education Program Intern is to develop and implement new, more specialized guided tours for the school to offer to visiting groups. Steps will include becoming familiar with the current guided tour, choosing themes for new tours, researching and organizing content for the tours, selecting and training students who will give tours, and making modifications based on observations and feedback from the first tours given.
Qualifications:
Qualities sought include: Spanish proficiency, strong interest in sustainable farming and agriculture, organized and self-motivated, enthusiastic, open-minded and adaptable, good communication skills, strong interest in working with and building relationships with ag. school students (aged 15-21). Interns must be available for a minimum of 8 weeks, but preference may be given to those able to stay longer. Start and end dates may be somewhat flexible.
Cost in US$: $350/month
Cost Include Description:
The program fee helps to cover the costs of administering the internship program, including the cost of housing which is provided for all interns. Interns are independently responsible for additional costs, including travel to and from Paraguay, health insurance, personal transportation and incidentals. Most interns usually spend between $150 and $300 per month.
