Guanajuato
Term: Summer
Description:
As an AMIGOS volunteer/intern, you will experience a new way of life, improve your Spanish and help implement sustainable development projects. This summer Amigos will send over 700 Volunteers to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama and Paraguay. During their 5 to 8 week long projects, Volunteers will work with a locally-based organization on projects promoting youth development, home and community improvement and public health. In their countries of service, Volunteers typically live with a host family and one or two other Amigos Volunteers in a rural community. Living with host families allows Amigos Volunteers to fully integrate into the community and truly understand what life is like for the people they are living with. The AMIGOS experience offers people the chance to broaden the world view, help other people help themselves, and learn more about the world of international development.
