Term: Throughout the year
Durations of Program: 9-12 weeks, 3-6 months and 7-12 months
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks

Description: To help make and improve websites for Thai and Lao national parks and eco tourism projects as well as helping us with our own website. We help develop and promote several eco tourism projects in Thailand and Laos and several projects would benefit from having an Internet presence and visibility.

We are also constantly trying to improve our own website to reach out to volunteers around the world to invite them to come to help, support our projects at schools, orphan homes, national parks and more. Many schools and other projects are still waiting to have a volunteer.

Highlights: If you are interested and think you can contribute to a successful implementation please contact us and tell us how you want to help. We will then come back to you.

You will stay at our own Volunteer Houses in Nongkhai most of the time when not visiting field projects.

You will get an extensive Pre Departure Orientation to prepare yourself before you travel: Country and culture information, Do's and dont's, Thai language instructions, teach and volunteer advice, travel information.

And you will participate in our 3 day Orientation in Thailand, in Nongkhai: Thai language training, cross culture information, teach English and computer training, Thai style welcome dinner, a CD ROM for volunteers and a Teach English Handbook.

Accommodation and food is included as well as a special stipend for the qualified volunteer.

Qualifications: Our projects are implemented with Thai and international educational institutions, students and volunteers. The web design projects will be implemented with our Thai staff and other international volunteers.

The project needs the help of people with experience of web design, graphic design, HTML programming, website promotion, a webmaster background is ideal.

If you have some training in this area and would like to gain experience highly valued by employers and have an interesting experience at the same time, then contact us.

Open mind projects's Mission Statement: Open Mind Projects is a bridge to knowledge and cross-cultural understanding, bridging digital and knowledge divides between rich and poor. Open Mind Projects arranges placements for international volunteers to schools, Orphan Homes, other institutions and projects, in Thailand and Laos. Open Mind Projects cooperates with these schools and institutions with learning ideas, technology and international volunteers. Schools and other learning/youth institutions in developing nations are understaffed and under resources. New information technology and international volunteers help offset this advantage. Open Mind Projects wants to facilitate valuable cross-cultural experience, personal development, for volunteers and local childeren and students. An opportunity to learn about other cultures while making local and international friends, within an affordable backpacker budget.
