Description:
The volunteers/interns: Child Survival Project Officer - Central Region The goal of the child survival project is to promote and maintain the optimal growth and development of children under five years and improve the general health of children, mothers and girls in reproductive age by strengthening a responsive and sustainable community-managed primary healthcare system which encourages changes in health related behaviors and attitudes. A volunteer/intern is required to assist in the coordination of this project. Health Care Workers - Central Region Health care workers are required to manage malaria, diarrhea and pneumonia cases in the Central Region and to provide information sessions on issues relating to malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia, HIV/AIDS/STIs, water, sanitation and hygiene. HFFG's mission is to advocate for women, children and families in the fight against preventable diseases as well as mobilizing communities, strengthening their capacity and using their own resources for acceptable and sustainable projects. HFFG has been working in partnership with five major international organizations towards the welfare of people, particularly women and children in deprived rural communities in the Central, Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions of Ghana. Their partners include Plan International and the Ghana Aids Commission. HFFG has received grants from USAID and DFID (UK's Department for International Development). The organization's key areas of focus are: - HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support - Reproductive health - Child survival - Research - Income generation - Gender-based advocacy and promotion of the rights of children - Promotion of basic health care - Sanitation and hygiene education
Qualifications:
Volunteers/interns must demonstrate either educational experience or work experience in one of the following fields: healthcare, project coordination, HIV/AIDS, or development.
