Ever thought big skies and golden fields are more for you than skyscrapers and coffee shops? Ever thought the smell of manure wasn't so bad? Ever felt that the human race is more like a rat race? Ever thought that community starts with family? Well your opportunity to escape to the great wide open is here. With INTERNeX you have the chance to break free from the bright lights and big city to a small locally-run family farm with horses and lots of wide open areas. Bring your open-minded attitude, sense of community, willingness to roll up your sleeves and jump in, and of course your rubber boots and you will find the wild-west is waiting for you.
Highlights:
* Placements are organized before you come to Canada * Placements are in Canadas farming communities throughout the West * Placements are on any kind of family-run farm or ranch * Placements include accommodation with the farm and full board * Placements are for one month or longer
Qualifications:
* Must be physically fit * Must not have any allergies or medical conditions * Must be willing to participate in all activities provided by the farm including cleaning, maintenance and household chores. All participants will be expected to contribute to the daily chores and activities on the farm as any other member of the household. Other activities and events occur depending on the season (e.g. harvest festivals, foaling, or rodeos). * Must be between the age of 20 and 28 (upon request, we may accept applicants younger than 20 or up to 30 years of age) * Must have at least upper intermediate (7/10) English level * Must have a travel insurance * Some types of farms require specific experience, i.e. horseback riding (horse training/breeding farms require applicants with at least 5 years riding experience; exceptions on a case by case basis In some cases the participant needs to undergo a phone interview with the Ranchstay supervisor and/or the farm family.

Cost in US$: 1,250 + 60 per week
Cost Include Description:
* Placement includes food and board on the ranch. Farm profile will be sent prior to arrival in Canada. * Participants are given access to a telephone and laundry facilities on the farm. * Bedding and towels will be provided * Canada orientation (only for candidates that arrive in Vancouver) * Arranging itinerary to the farm * Mail-holding service * 24 hour emergency number * Ongoing service and trouble shootingOptional Services: * Language Training in Vancouver or Toronto * Homestay in Vancouver * Accommodation in Staff-House Vancouver * Hostel Package incl. breakfast, 1 year hostel membership (worldwide) with various discounts and free internet minutes * Transfer Voucher from Airport Vancouver to hostel Vancouver * Airport Meet and Greet in Vancouver and transfer to Homestay family, hostel or Staff-House * Organizing and booking of trips (Rockies, Whistler, Vancouver Island etc.)
