Description:
This is a public school located in an impoverished part of the city. It has about 500 students (K-6), and there is room for a lot of projects. However, in the public schools the intern has to find his/her way around and not expect much guidance as the teachers do not have much spare time. This allows for creativity and independence and would be a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in a classroom.
Highlights:
With this placement, interns will be expected to assist teachers in their daily routines. Interns will be aides to the teachers, helping them set up for class and take care of the students during the school day. Interns may also help set up projects and assist any clubs or groups that are established.
