Description:
Medical Center is where they perform consults and deal with emergencies. It's a small clinic that's meant for the poorer population of different locations. You can help! We need general doctors, dentists, obstetrics, psychologists, lab-workers, nurses, ophthalmologist and technical nurses as well as medical students of all kinds! Many Peruvians are still deprived of public health care. With a majority of hospitals located in the major cities, it is difficult for the poor people in rural areas to access health care benefits. As a volunteer in Peru working in our Health Project, you will support the local doctors and nurses in the health centers. You will use your medical skills to treat patients: check blood pressure, weigh babies, and help with other routine first-aid procedures. Your work in the health center is a 30-36 hour a week commitment.
