Description: Intern in China at the home of one of the country's national treasures. This internship in China offers an unparalleled opportunity for volunteers to work at the museum of the famous Terracotta warriors. English speakers are needed not only to raise the language skills of staff, but also to improve what's on offer to English-speaking visitors while you gain valuable tourism work experience. After spending two weeks at this project, volunteers have the option to stay at the museum or to transfer to a traditional tea house in Xi'an where they can teach English and learn aspects of Chinese culture and experience rewarding mutual cross cultural development.

Highlights: The world famous Terracotta Warriors were discovered in March 1974 when local farmers were drilling a well in search of water. By volunteering at this project you will get a unique opportunity to work at this UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back 2, 200 years. The project is located around 30 kms east of Xi'an and has around 350 staff. You will be working within the Education Department of the project which has around 40 staff, assisting with many different activities. In addition to working with the Terracotta museum you will also have the choice after 2 weeks of assisting at a Tea House in Xi'an city. This tea house is one of the top houses in China and is steeped with local history and culture. The tea house also holds Chinese calligraphy and painting courses.
