Cultural Embrace offers a way to maximize the stay in Australia with professional work experience. Placements may be arranged throughout Australia, including major cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, and many more. This program is aimed at university students with the appropriate skills, graduates and post-graduates, professionals from all sectors. We offer a wide variety of work experience placements. Examples listed below are a guide of where we have already made placements: Food and Catering, Graphic Arts, Non-Profit Associations, Car industry, Financial services, Tourism, Cinema and Entertainment, Communication/Media, Consulting, Sports, Distribution, Publishing, Marketing, Business Associations, Law firms, Hotels/Restaurants, Computing/IT, Real estate, Laboratories, Fashion Photography and Design, Shipping, Leisure, Media and News agencies, Promotion and Sales, Insurance, Transportation and Logistic, Services, Educational Centers and Universities... Most interns are NOT paid, however a bonus could be negotiated at the discretion of the company. 6 month internships in the hospitality/tourism, and food and beverage industry will receive a local salary.

At your work site, you will have an Immediate Supervisor offering training and guidance. Due to visa regulations, all positions are unpaid, except in hospitality/tourism. However, some companies may offer a bonus for your efforts. * Housing Assistance Housing is not included with your program fee, but Cultural Embrace may pre-arrange your accommodations prior to your arrival in Australia. You may choose between Shared Housing (with Australians or other international workers) or Family Homestay (with or without meals. In some cities, Budget Hotels/Hostels (price varies depending upon shared or single room and room size) are also available. Or, you may opt to secure your housing once you are in Australia to get a better idea of where and who you would like to live with. Please note that Australias housing options have short-term leases (weekly). * Visa Assistance Cultural Embrace will assist you with information to obtain a visa from Australian immigration, but we have no control or the ability to guarantee government issuance and/or visa availability. Please note that visa costs are not included in program fees. * Jet Lag Welcome Package Airport pick-up and transfer to a clean, safe, centrally-located hostel is included with two nights shared accommodations, breakfast, cultural activities and local discounts. * Arrival Orientation You will receive pertinent information regarding local transportation, banking, and safety. You will also receive tips on travel, communications, and social and outdoor activities. Finally, you will be familiarized with the code of conduct and expectations for your internship. * Basic International Travelers Insurance with Medical Our policy provides basic medical coverage. Cultural Embrace highly recommends additional travel insurance, which is available at extra cost. * Cultural Embrace Cultural Kit Before your departure, we send you a packet filled with useful tips, advice, and information to prepare you for the amazing adventure of living and working abroad. Plus receive information and discounts for local Australian sites, activities, and events. * Full-time Representation Cultural Embrace provides representation in the United States and Australia prior to, during, and after your placement. You will have an immediate supervisor at your internship site. Additionally, our local representatives will visit you periodically at your work site.
Qualifications:
* You must be 18-30 years of age (due to visa regulations) * You must have recent university-level coursework or a university degree in the field in which you wish to work. Experience in your field is helpful. * Resume/CV and cover letter * You must have access to a minimum of AUD$1000 (approx. USD782) while in Australia. This minimum amount does not have to be entirely in cash; traveler's checks, ATM, and debit/credit cards may also be presented. You are required to show that you have immediate access to funds via bank accounts or parental help * You may be required to get a chest x-ray and full medical examination in your home country as part of the visa application process. * Be open to foreign cultures and living abroad * Have a high level of responsibility * Be dedicated to the full term of commitment
