Description: Are you interested in the study of Peruvian culture or further exploring specific issues in Peru' Global Crossroad's internship in Peru program offers opportunities for international students to develop skills and undertake in-depth study of any areas related to Peru. With the help of local project staff, we offer internship abroad opportunities in Peru in many areas such as:

* Traditional Peruvian Arts
* Natural Medicine and Ethno-botany
* Environment and Conservation
* Health
* Quechua (ancient Peruvian language)
* Peruvian Handicrafts
* Social Issues (Poverty, religion, etc.)

In our Peru internship program, you will engage in daily activities of the project, working directly under the supervision of a local supervisor (usually the head of the project). Global Crossroad will find the best expert possible in your area, but you will be responsible for developing the scope of your internship project, taking into account your own interests in collaboration with your supervisors. At the end of your internship project, you will need to submit a report of your internship project and its results.

Highlights: Volunteer in Peru, and travel back in time to the great civilizations which once flourished - and then passed away into the mists of history, leaving nothing but tantalizing remnants behind. Wander through the ruins of the great lost city of Machu Picchu. Visit the Inca capital of Cuzco, parts of which still stand forth in the modern town built by the Spanish atop the Incan remains. View the colonial remnants of the Spanish conquistadors, and see the vestiges of many other old Andean civilizations which are no more.

Our Volunteer Peru program is located in Huancayo, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Mantaro Valley, home to several artisan villages and Incan ruins. Here you can experience the distinct culture of the Huancas, with their colorful costumes, energetic dances, and high quality artisanship.

Our volunteer in Peru program offers volunteers spectacular glimpses of the people and landscapes of Peru along with the opportunity to help others in a variety of community development projects.
